They are the nation's nearby countryside with more than 66% of people in England living with a 30 minute journey time of their nearest.
National Landscapes deliver considerable benefits to the nation, for instance they store at least 17.5% of England’s total soil carbon.
They encompass 20% of England's total woodland cover, and 30% of the nation's ancient woodland.
