Big Chalk announces Nature Recovery Fund

Big Chalk Partnership ambitions for nature recovery to turn to action on the ground

The Big Chalk Nature Recovery Fund will launch in late August 2025 — a major step in turning the partnership's ambition for nature's recovery into action on the ground.

Ready for the launch of the Big Chalk Nature Recovery Fund, the team have recruited Naami Padi as Fund Manager. Naami brings a wealth of experience from the voluntary sector, with a strong background in designing, delivering and evaluating impact-led grant programmes. She will be a key contact for those developing projects and seeking support.

The Big Chalk Nature Recovery Fund will award individual grants of up to £75,000 to projects that help restore and reconnect the chalk and limestone landscapes of southern England. The Big Chalk team are aiming to support up to 10 projects at this scale — but will welcome smaller proposals, and may consider larger grants where the impact is clear.

From rivers to ridgelines, farmland to nature reserves, they're backing work that helps nature recover, strengthens habitat networks, and helps these iconic places thrive for people and wildlife across the Big Chalk geography — both within and beyond protected landscapes.
