Date: 28 Jun 2025
Location: Building Bridges, 20 Scotland Rd, Nelson BB9 7UU
Pendle Festival of Culture on Saturday 28 June is your first opportunity to experience Are You Lost? by Rob St John.
Are You Lost? is a multi media installation exploring histories and personal stories of Bowland. Rob has worked with hundreds of people, particularly young people over the past nine months to develop the piece. You can see, hear and feel the results in Nelson on Saturday and in Dunsop Bridge and Gisburn later in the summer.
Pendle Hill is an imposing presence in East Lancashire with many people able to see it from their homes and schools every day, with a rich radical and folkloric history. Yet not everyone has the chance to visit Pendle or the wider Bowland landscape right on their doorsteps.
Visit the Building Bridges office in Nelson to delve deeper into your understanding of what the area represents and consider your own thoughts on this landscape and its social, and political heritage and future.
Talks and activities throughout the day:
1pm - Yes Hub kids and young people in conversation with Rob
2pm - National Landscape team and local farmer interviewed by the young people
4pm - Pendle Radical History past and present - led by Mid Pennine Arts and Rob
4.30 pm - Guided walk from town centre to the River
All day: Screenprinting images of the Forest of Bowland
