Our Gower Landscape Connections team took some time out of the office to spend the day at this year’s Gower Show, speaking with local residents, farmers and visitors as part of the project's public consultation.
Dr Amanda Roberts, the programme's Engagement Officer, said: “It was an amazing day. Every conversation helped build a richer understanding of the landscape, ensuring that local knowledge, lived experience and community insight are at the heart of the programme as it develops.”
The event also showcased inspiring work from University of Wales Trinity Saint David graduates, Emmi Joy and Ioan Jefferies, created through the project's ecology and art residencies, alongside work by Robyn Brooke. Their wallpapers, textiles and mapping research sparked fantastic conversations, demonstrating how creative practice can help people connect with Gower's natural and cultural heritage in new ways.

Amanda Roberts, Community Engagement Officer for Gower Landscape Connections, said: "As someone who lives in Gower, the Gower Show is always one of the highlights of my summer. This year was especially rewarding because it gave us the opportunity to speak to so many people about the project and hear first-hand their stories, ideas and aspirations for the landscape.
"It felt like much more than just another day at work, it was a chance to be part of the wonderful community spirit that makes Gower so special. I'd also like to say a huge thank you to my husband, Phil, for volunteering his time to help on the stand, and to my children for lending a hand at the end of the day. It really was a family effort."
