Nature and art conversations now available on the go

Catch up on inspiring artistic conversations

For the past few months, the commissioned artists for our Nature Calling national arts commissioning programme have been talking with experts from other fields about their projects, artistic process and all kinds of other topics.

You can now catch up on all the Nature Calling Conversations as 20 minute bite size podcasts, available from your favourite podcast streaming platform, or in full on our YouTube channel. The Conversations have taken us off in some fascinating directions.

Rob St John, creator of 'Are You Lost?' for Forest of Bowland National Landscape, and ecotherapist and geologist Ruth Allen talked about the importance of young people accessing the outdoors, land ownership and social justice.

Surrey Hills National Landscape commissioned artists, David Blandy and Daniel Locke spoke with Dr Lena Grinsted of Portsmouth University about social spiders, moments of magic in nature and their creation of choose your own adventure trails in Croydon and Box Hill for the project 'Dawn after Night, Spring after Summer'.

Gwyneth Herbert, Jason Singh and Chris Howard, Mendip Hills National Landscapes commissioned artists talked about working together, uncovering the voices of nature and building relationships with the local community.

We still have three more fascinating conversations to go, booking is available for the next session on 3 September and details of the final two will be added to our events page soon.
