A day of celebration of a new community space for Luton!
On Saturday Luton Henge by artist Matthew Rosier, will officially open with a day of celebration. The Henge was commissioned by Chilterns National Landscape as part of the National Landscape Association's Nature Calling programme.
On Saturday 26 July 2025, local producers Revoluton Arts and Chilterns National Landscape will host the Luton Henge Festival, a one-day celebration marking the official launch of Luton’s brand-new monument—a bold fusion of ancient inspiration and modern community spirit.
Set in the heart of Marsh Farm, just outside Marsh House and near the historic grounds of Waulud’s Bank, this free festival is an invitation to the people of Luton to experience the very first chapter of their new Henge.
Expect a vibrant day filled with live performances, hands-on art and craft workshops and exciting activities for all ages. For long time locals or curious visitors, there will be something for everyone to discover, explore and enjoy. Find out more on the Revoluton Arts website.

The Luton Henge stones were among the last to be quarried at the Totternhoe chalk quarry, adding more historic significance to the site
On Midsummer's Day the centrepiece of the Henge - the Totternhoe Chalk Standing Stone - was brought to its new home near Marsh House in Luton. Members of the Luton Community helped 'stand the stones' and artist Matthew Rosier, local producers Revoluton Arts, Chilterns National Landscape staff, Kerenza McClarnan, National Landscapes Association Nature Calling Manager, and members of the team from National Creative Executive Producers Activate were all there to celebrate.

Volunteers celebrate the 'standing' of the Luton Henge stones.
Luton Henge was granted permanent planning permission in May and members of the Luton Henge Collective are already busy planning programming for the site, and how they will keep it a place for celebration and contemplation for the whole community well into the future. The Collective meets fortnightly on a Tuesday evening - find out more on their webpage.

Luton Henge has permanent planning permission and is being managed by a volunteer group 'The Luton Henge Collective', providing opportunities for the local community to enjoy the Henge for many years to come.
