National Landscapes Association launches carbon literacy training

National Landscapes staff will be able to explore how to reduce their carbon footprint.

We're very proud to announce that carbon literacy training is now available for all National Landscapes staff. Clare Downing, Climate Change Coordinator for the National Landscapes Association, has developed a course approved by the Carbon Literacy Project which will run online monthly.

According to the Carbon Literacy Project, Carbon Literacy is “An awareness of the carbon costs and impacts of everyday activities, and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual, community and organisational basis.”

As a network committed to having a positive impact on nature and climate through our nature restoration work, this training is a great opportunity to look more widely at the effect we have as individuals and organisations, and how we can take action to minimise the negative impacts of our travel, diet, energy and consumption choices. It will also help National Landscapes teams to prepare for and adapt their landscapes to the changing conditions.

National Landscapes staff can sign up for Carbon Literacy training by following the links on the National Landscapes Platform or by contacting Clare Downing.

The World Wildlife Fund has a handy carbon footprint calculator if you'd like to tot up your own impact.
