Good Food Guide Award for Helmsley and the Howardian Hills

Helmsley and the Howardian Hills named Most Exciting Food Destination

Howardian Hills National Landscape manager Ellie Hook and Michelin starred chef Tommy Banks accepted the award at The Good Food Guide Awards inaugural ceremony at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London.

Good Food Guide Editor Elizabeth Carter, Knife & Fork Media founder Adam Hyman, Michelin-starred chef Tommy Banks, Howardian Hills National Landscape Manager Ellie Hook and Good Food Guide Editor Chloe Hamilton.

They took their place alongside such luminaries as the team at The Sportsman in Kent, which received the Restaurant of the Year award and became only the fourth restaurant in Britain to be rated World Class by the Guide.

The prestigious event was held at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.

Howardian Hills National Landscape Manager Ellie Hook attended the ceremony with Tommy Banks, chef director of Michelin-starred restaurant The Black Swan at Oldstead. near Helmsley.

Ellie said: 'The whole Howardian Hills National Landscape Partnership is absolutely delighted to receive this award. Helmsley and the Howardian Hills is such a hotspot for exciting and delicious food, we are thrilled that the Good Food Guide has given the whole area this recognition. The award, as well as our amazing local chefs and bakers recognise the importance of the Howardian Hills landscape and farmers and food producers in creating the conditions for high quality, healthy and delicious locally grown and reared food."
