Forest of Bowland National Landscape has a successful volunteering programme which sees local people trained in valuable heritage skills like dry-stone walling.
Regular volunteering days give them chance to use their training out in the landscape restoring iconic heritage assets.
Many National Landscapes offer similar opportunities - check out your local National Landscape's website to see if they are looking for new volunteers.

Volunteers in Forest of Bowland talk about their experiences working together to learn the rural heritage skill of dry stone walling and the friends they've made.
