Ruth Colbridge

Ruth Colbridge

Communications and Media Manager

Ruth joined the National Landscapes Association in June 2020 after freelancing for the Association during 2019. She is responsible for communications strategy and planning, creating and commissioning content for the website, running our socials, sharing our e-bulletin and coordinating press releases. She also facilitates the communication leads network for National Landscape Partnerships and supports communications for Nature Calling. She managed the rebrand from Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty to National Landscapes, and working with Activate Performing Arts, secured the funding for Nature Calling.

Ruth lives in Lancaster. She grew up in Blackburn and spent a lot of time exploring the Forest of Bowland National Landscape, Arnside and Silverdale National Landscape and Yorkshire Dales National Park with her family, something she enjoys sharing with her own children now.

Ruth has twenty five years’ experience of working in communications roles in the private and public sector. She holds a Chartered Institute of Public Relations diploma and a BSc in History, Philosophy and Social Studies of Science from University College London for which she specialised in science communication and journalism. Previously she worked in communications roles in NHS Trusts across London and in the recycling industry. She is committed to social justice and has a passion for sharing our protected landscapes and green spaces with new visitors – especially young people and underserved groups.
