Kieran Thomas

Kieran studied Biological Sciences at the University of Oxford, with research speciality in conservation and ecology before completing a master’s degree in Sustainability and Adaptation at the Centre for Alternative Technology, where he looked at the role of politics, economics and systems thinking in ecological conservation.

During his studies, Kieran worked as Science Communicator for a Wrexham-based science centre.

He then moved into community engagement, specialising in working with under-served groups, firstly at the science centre, then as part of Chester Zoo's Nature Recovery Corridor. He recently started working as Policy Advocate at Butterfly Conservation, focussing on policy related to grasslands, woodlands and peatlands across the UK. Kieran is based in Wrexham, just outside the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley National Landscape.
