Lizzie Laybourne
Nature-based Solutions Officer
Lizzie joined the National Landscapes Association in September 2026, working with the team to support and develop nature-based solutions projects and opportunities across National Landscapes, focusing in the south-east.
Lizzie lives in Southampton, having grown up there, and loves visiting the Isle of Wight National Landscape to get glimpses of red squirrels and Glanville fritillaries (amongst much more!). She has also spent lots of time in Dorset National Landscape and exploring the Jurassic Coast. She spends most weekends either finding some new places to see wildlife or playing music... and loves a moth trap!
She previously worked for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust as Nature-based Solutions Officer, focusing on carbon and climate change, which built her enthusiasm for protecting natural spaces and wildlife. Prior to that, she studied Geography and then a masters in Global Sustainability Solutions at the University of Exeter, and enjoyed exploring the lovely East Devon National Landscape in the process.
